Boarding Farms Compared
October 1st, 2009
As I mentioned in a recent blog post, I was amazed at the current price of board. As promised, I’ve started collecting information on boarding farms in the mid-Michigan area. Not much yet, but I hope to expand this page with pictures, and provide the ability for others to rate the farms on some kind of scale as well as leave comments about them. Feel free to send me info on farms you feel should be included in this list. The following list is sorted by the monthly cost of board, and gives brief information about each farm.
- $325.00, Groveland Township. 120′ by 60′ indoor arena. Borders 3000 acres of wooded trails. 248-634-9968
- $285.00, Ortonville. SunRay Farm. 12′ x 12′ stalls, daily turnout. 10 Pastures over 32 acres, rotated.
- $250.00, Grand Blanc. At $250 monthly, Aurelius Stable seems like a good value. Twice daily feeding, daily turn-out, with an indoor arena. 810-743-8424.
The information was gathered from advertisements posted in Lucy’s Feeds in GoodRich (my cousin’s store, BTW), and online research. In some cases I’ve called the contact number for additional information.
