Gene’s one of the stabler male role models from my childhood. In appearance and mannerisms, he’s a cross between the original Marlboro man and James Coburn. Rodeo rider, horse trainer, farrier, truck driver – a real, died-in-the wool cowboy. My mom said in a tussle, he has the fastest fists she’d ever seen. Beneath a tough exterior exists a gentle soul.
